What is Legal Aid?
Our clients
Our clients come from many different backgrounds. They are working people, families, and people with disabilities. They are senior citizens, veterans, and people who get public benefits. They are U.S. Citizens, immigrants and refugees, and temporary workers. You may qualify for services, based on your income and family size. To find out if you qualify, call or visit an office near you. If you are 60 or older, or if you are a victim of family violence, you may qualify for our services even if you are not low-income. Please apply for services by calling our Toll-Free helpline at 1-877-777-6152. We handle elder law, estate planning, family court, social security disability benefits, mortgage foreclosure and more (must apply & qualify for services).
Our service area
We serve the following thirteen counties: Broome, Cayuga, Chenango, Cortland, Delaware, Herkimer, Jefferson, Lewis, Madison, Oneida, Onondaga, Oswego, and Otsego. We also have an Agricultural Workers Program (AWP) throughout NY State.
