What cases are we taking in Broome County?

Please note that we can only help you if you qualify for our services.

An intake worker will talk to you first to see if you qualify.

Because our staff is limited, we still may not be able to take your case. In some cases, our services may be limited to advice only.

If we can't take your case, we will try to give you information about other places that may be able to help you.

Here is a list of cases we are taking in Broome County:

Housing
Emergencies only, such as illegal lockouts, evictions, foreclosures and dangerous housing conditions.

Family Court Cases
We take Family Court cases assigned to us by the Broome County Family Court. When you go to your first hearing at Family Court, make sure to ask for a free lawyer. In most cases, you have the right to a free lawyer in Family Court if you have low income and resources.
