Pro Bono Opportunities for Attorneys

Volunteering pro bono at the Legal Aid Society of Mid-New York is a great way to earn Continuing Legal Education (CLE) credit while providing free legal services.  By participating, you will make a difference in the lives of low-income people, seniors wanting to plan for their futures, those seeking help with domestic violence, and others who can’t afford legal assistance when they need it most.

Volunteer lawyers provide free attorney consultations to low-income clients throughout our 13-country service area and help us to continue meeting our clients’ needs when funding for civil legal services is limited.

How Do Our Pro Bono Lawyers Serve the Public Good?

In the past year, volunteer private attorneys through our Private Attorney Involvement program donated nearly 400 hours of legal work to our clients.

Huge thanks to Julia Copperwheat, Timothy Fitzpatrick, Alejandro Kreimerman Meyohas, Mikaela Tribby, Mark Halpin, and Nathan Orner, top contributors in 2025, for their outstanding pro bono service. Their dedication brings justice within reach for those who need it most.
